GIFTS was established in 1998. Its first shop in
Bridlington, East Yorkshire, selling a variety of products but focusing
on retro and unusual gifts. Initially, Elvis items only featured
on a minor scale, perhaps stocking the odd ashtray or bag. Despite
this, customers collecting Elvis memorabilia gradually increased
in number and Elvis products became a much greater percentage of
total sales at the shop. The business has expanded over the last
few years, opening another outlet and developing a 'Cosmic Club',
a membership scheme which provides discount to members and regular
newsletters.
Demand for Elvis products has continued in so far
that staff have attended conventions and trade shows nationwide
hoping to source more unique products. The result of this, along
with continued support from Elvis collectors is the launch of
a website dedicated to Elvis paraphernalia in Summer 2004.
We have high hopes for the continued development of the Elvis
site, and in the coming months will be including a specialist
'Americana' section, selling advertising, neon signs and diecast
models. |
